Ina Alleco R. Silverio studied journalism and creative writing in the University of the Philippines. She was a Fellow for Fiction in the 1996 Silliman Creative Writing Workshop and a Fellow for Filipino Fiction in the 1998 UP National Writers Workhop. Her work has been published in the Sunday Inquirer Magazine, the Manila Times, Graphic Magazine, Mirror Magazine and BusinessWorld. During a break from her work in the Philippine progressive mass movement, she became the editor of Hong Kong News, a bilingual, twice-monthly newspaper for Filipinos in the former British colony.
