About
James earned his doctoral degree in Physics from the University of Ottawa while working on a joint-neuroscience project with Drs. Len Maler and Andre Longtin. During his Ph.D., he developed techniques for the reliable and precise measurement of physiological signals from freely-behaving animals. By applying these techniques, he uncovered the novel role of active sensing during voluntary movements and spatial navigation. James received his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Physics (First-class honor) at the University of Calgary. He is passionate about improving neural implants in the intersection between physics, biology and computation. James is also an avid runner and outdoorsman who enjoy...
