I picked up my first Atari, tried to write a bouncing ball script and crashed it because of lack of memory. I decided that it was quite good for the games of the time. I got a commodore 64, and with my phone modem attachment, ventured out with the service known as Compuserve. The libraries (CARL) and stocks were (kinda) at my fingertips. I found the CB Smulator that had the "internet's" first chatrooms. I decided on the name zazen. (sitting in front of the computer meditation). I think it was around $15/hour.
