Staff Sergeant John V. Hemmingway was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Benedictine High School in 2000. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army to serve as a Fire Support Specialist. His military schooling includes Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Warriors Leaders Course (Commandants List), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems Course, Master Fitness Trainer鈥檚 Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, and the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below Course.
