I was employed in Iraq as a PSD (protective security detail) member for sixteen months. I was contracted by Reed Inc. and was based in the Green Zone in Baghdad. Reed in turn was subcontracted to the Washington International group.
Washington had obtained a tender from the American department of Defense to assist with the reconstruction of the electricity network which had suffered from years of neglect because it fell within the areas of Shiites.
Our function was to protect engineers while they worked at the various sites.
On 7May 2006, we were given a mission to take engineers to the town of al Kut so that they could train and test Iraqi engineers before the hand over of the sub statio
