Turf species that have
optimum growth at
temperatures between
60 and 75°F.
A cultivated variety of
a species, such as K-31
and Rebel.

of the grass.
Turf that has its
optimum growth at
temperatures between
80 and 95°F.
A combination of two or more cultivars
of the same species, for example Rebel
and Falcon tall fescue.

species, for example Kentucky
bluegrass and perennial ryegrass.
Uniform application to an entire area.
Plant development in the absence of
rhizome and stolon production or a non-
spreading grass
Plant development at or near the soil
surface that results in lateral spreading by
rhizomes, stolons, or both.
A joint where leaves, roots, branches, or
stems arise.
An underground creeping stem that can
produce roots and shoots at each node.
A stolon or rhizome used to establish turf.
An above-ground creeping stem that can
produce roots and shoots at each node.
