My name is Joop Groen (1957), I am researching the Groen family, originally from the area Heerenveen in Friesland (the Netherlands). In 1811 Carpenter Yke Fokkes adopted the Groen family name as a result of the Napoleonic decree.
Since I am a son in law of Gooitzen vanderSchaaf and Akke Akkerman I also search for van derSchaaf family members all over the world.
