My research topic with the Department of Statistics at University of Auckland relates to the management of ICU wards in the cardio-vascular unit (CV-ICU) at Auckland DHB. This research is part of a larger programme of work being undertaken by a group of researchers at the University of Auckland in collaboration with DHBs.
The focus of my research is to develop a mathematical and simulation tool that will assist the cardiac unit in making informed decisions on allocation of beds, rostering of staff, scheduling of electives, timing of admissions, and other resource allocation questions.
