A developmental psychologist and social scientist with background in developmental and cognitive psychology, social change, and communication. My professional work focuses on improving educational opportunities and social conditions for at-risk children and youth, ranging from high poverty urban schools to orphanages in China. Currently, I split my time among University of Pittsburgh, the Fred Rogers Company, and China. In late August 2013, I will serve as Associate Professor of Early Learning and Children's Media at St. Vincent College, in close collaboration with the Fred Rogers Center.
