Having been born and raised in Wairarapa ki Tararua - Greater Wellington and being part of The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust, and our supertribal entity sort of says it all for me. I am a native speaker of my traditional language of the region and proficient in all things pertaining to our heritage and culture.
I am also part Ngati Awa, Ngai Tuhoe and Te Ati Awa, Ngati Mamoe as well as strongly linked with Waitahanui. And I am Waitaha (Waitaha-a-Rangi - ariki tipuna of Tamatea-arikinui). I have a strong teaching, leadership, management, PR, Media, and research background also.
