Education

My interests and skills cover a broad spectrum of topics and disciplines, ranging from linguistics to cultural and media studies. I have worked for several media related research projects at universities in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium and have published articles on alternative modes of film practice in East-Germany, Dutch film culture in the 1960s and 1970s, and cinemagoing in Flanders, Belgium after 1945. Currently, I am finishing my dissertation on (histories of) local film exhibition and experiences of cinemagoing, in which I call for an integrative approach to film and cinema history combining institutional and oral histories.
