Chemist with interdisciplinary background (physiology, pharmacology, molecular biophysics, neuroscience). Extensive hands-on experience with patch-clamp technique, especially single-channel current recording. Experience in setting up a patch-clamp workstation and performing experiments using Axon as well as HEKA amplifier systems. My current research interest is focused on protein-membrane interactions, bridging biophysical and physiological approaches to improve our understanding of ion channel function.
