I was born in Abington Memorial Hospital and grew up in the Philadelphia area, graduated from PhilMont Christian Academy in 1972 and attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA on a four-year ROTC scholarship graduating with a BA in History in May, 1976. Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Adjutant General Corps, I attended Officer Basic Course then served as the Assistant Adjutant of the 558th USA Artillery Group in Athens Greece. While there I met my future wife, YoungHoa Choi, and we were engaged. We returned to the USA and were married in 1979 and moved into “Army Housing” at Fort Dix, NJ where I served another 2 years as the Receiving Officer, US Army Reception Stati
