Graduated from Technical University in Czechoslovakia in 1983 as mechanical engineer specialized on material handling technology and equipment. in 1987 successfully defended PhD on mechanical engineering with thesis on fatigue of material. from 1988 started working at Vietnam Maritime University as Lecturer in mechanical dept. from 1990 working for UNDP project as Training Manager until 1994.
