I am Gloria, mami to Aidan, founder of the Latina Mami collective(s), woman of color activist, disability advocate/activist, community organizer, and hermana to many, many sisters.
I wake up yelling. Get up early and stay up late...I can be smart and serious then completely goofy. I'm clumsy but won't stop wearing HIGH heels. I've been pulled over by a bicycle cop--WHILE DRIVING A CAR.
Seriously: I'm a community organizer and disability advocate. I started Latina Mami, a grassroots organization for Latina mothers in Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, California. I've also worked for ACLU on the Texas border and Industrial Areas Foundation and National Council of La Raza as a community org
