- 9. NETWORK UPDATE IRS 501(3) Designa=on ≒ EducaAonal. The Network will educate decision makers, educators, businesses and individual members of the public regarding the bene鍖ts of developing an o鍖shore wind industry and other marine o鍖shore renewable energy industries by conduc=ng study tours, webinars and conferences on the topic of o鍖shore wind and by producing newsleeers, informa=on sheets, and similar publica=ons for distribu=on to the public. ≒ ScienA鍖c. The Network will conduct studies and support research and pilot programs to advance the development of o鍖shore wind and marine o鍖shore renewable energy. ≒ Charitable. The Network will coordinate with the government and the private sector to develop an o鍖shore wind and other marine o鍖shore renewable energy industry cluster by assis=ng in bringing businesses and the public sector together; ac=ng as an ombudsman among the par=cipants to encourage partnering and collabora=on; and focusing on the need to include under-skilled workers in the supply chain.
