Luis G. Naranjo is a Colombian ornithologist with more than 35 years of experience. Originally trained as a Marine Biologist, he holds a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Ecology from New Mexico State University, and has worked in a wide range of ecological settings, including tropical rainforests, inter-Andean valleys, cloud forests, and páramos. As a Professor and researcher at the Valle University in Cali, Colombia, he managed numerous projects dealing with natural history and community ecology of resident birds and different aspects of the biology of migratory shorebirds.
