The childhood shows the man
As morning shows the day.
~John Milton, Paradise Regained
As a shy energetic child, I was curious like most but wasn’t satiated with a simple explanation - I had to see for myself. That draw manifested itself with many toys and discarded home gadgets being taken apart, so I could see what made them work.
As a teenager, I was bitten (like Peter Parker aka, Spiderman) by the photography bug! I spent countless hours in the darkroom printing my photos while bopping to the music of The Clash and The Police. In retrospect, I realize that spending many hours alone in a red-light lit darkroom was, well, an enabler; of free, uninhibited experimentation. It also taught.
