Since, FitMachine has prevented the major failures CSF Proteins has experienced in the past couple of years. Ultimately, this has cut repair costs, reduced unplanned downtime, reduced unsafe work and drastically improved reliability. How CSF Proteins Went to Zero Unplanned Outages in Less Than 12 Months How CSF Proteins utilised MOVUS FitMachine to save lost production, reduce equipment repair costs, and create a trusting relationship with stakeholders. Despite their rendering plants being one of the most sophisticated in Australia, their old routine maintenance regime and use of the look, listen and feel technique meant roughly 70 percent of failures were going undetected. Historically, this meant CSF Proteins have dealt with four or five major failures each year. During each failure a plant line would be down for up to five days. Being a rendering plant, this is particularly significant. To ensure they can process the intake material before it starts to spoil, CSF needs to guarantee the reliability of the major equipment on their production line. The failure of assets is a highly undesirable outcome; one which in turn impacts their reliability, reputation and relationship with stakeholders. WHY FITMACHINE WAS THE PERFECT SOLUTION Taking action to minimise their unplanned downtime and associated costs, CSF Proteins implemented MOVUS as a low-cost, self-installed condition monitoring solution. Now, they have early warning of potential failures and can plan downtime without interrupting production - minimising costs and skyrocketing their reliability.
