JOURNEY with WGLG
Women and Girls Lead Global(WGLG) is a global campaign to
improve the lives of women and girls. Unfortunately , Bangladesh is
ranked 3 in worst form of child marriage prevalence in the world
where 66% of girls of 20 -24 years are marrying before they reach 18
(Unicef 2012) and directly hinders 6 out of 8 MDG goals. Thus, the
WGLG sets PREVENTING CHILD MARRIAGE AND KEEPING GIRLS AT
SCHOOL as campaign issue for Bangladesh.
NGCAF and WGLG strongly agreed that, we will be successful, if
our girls & women got succeed in their life. It is impossible for girls as
well as women to get success without establishing policies in support
of social change. If we want to empowered our women, first we have
to save our girl child from the curse of child marriage. And have to
enable the safe and positive environment for girls to continue their
education; at home, at community and at school.
NGCAF and WGLG believe that, Effective partnerships are achieved
through developing a shared vision and aligning goals and objectives.
Therefore, NGCAF joined with this campaign Best School for Girls
, which indirectly feeds for preventing child marriage. This campaign
