I am currently a part-time Agriculture Specialist III - I conduct fruit/vegetable production research at VSU's Randolph Farm, and specialize in hightunnel production and small fruit production (Most familiar with vegetable, strawberry and blackberry production). I use a mix of sustainable, biologically friendly production methods at the research farm and utilize cover crops rotations, composting, and organic pest deterrent practices.
I also operate a 1/4 acre (actually slightly under 1/4 acre) organic (non-certified) urban farm in my backyard in Hopewell, VA - and sell at the Hopewell Farmers Market in order to bring healthy, wholesome food to a "food-desert" community.
