On our farm in Pennsylvania,
We raise registered Nubian dairy goats.
In the spring,
The kids are born
And milking begins.
Fresh goat milk is used to make our
soaps by the cold process method.
Soap ingredients include vegetable
   oils and shortening, sodium
       hydroxide, and milk.
The sodium
hydroxide (lye) is
 first combined
  with the milk.
The oils are
   gently
heated, then
added to the
  lye/milk
  mixture.
The mixture is then blended until it
        begins to thicken.
Finally, the
 mixture is
poured into
  molds.
The soaps cure for six weeks to
complete the saponification process.
Goat milk soaps are wonderful for
your skin, full of natural moisturizers
            and vitamins.
