Mark Parsons leads and manages activities of the Research Data Alliance. He has been involved in data management for more than 20 years, during which he defined and implemented comprehensive data stewardship processes for many projects and organizations. He is active in many international informatics efforts and led the data management effort for the International Polar Year. He studies geography and likes to ride bicycles.
