Mars Mertens has in the past fourteen years closely experienced the developments in digital music exploitation from various perspectives.
Initially as the International Digital Exploitation Manager for label/distributor [Vital:PIAS] Digital.
Subsequently acted as Digital Business Development advisor for the Dutch Music Copyright organisation Buma/Stemra.
Next step was being involved in a startup company as Head of Business Development for fan-funding platform SellaBand.
Following this he set up OurMusic.Biz, an independent Consultancy and Business Development company focused on the various aspects of the music business
