Before becoming a registered nurse in 2014, I was a Gannett NJ newspaper employee for nearly 12 years. After being downsized in 2011, I decided to go back to school to pursue nursing. I enrolled at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC), North Branch, NJ, and was accepted into the nursing program at RVCC. I graduated cum laude with my associates degree in nursing in May 2014, and currently am enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to complete my BSN.
