Walking into Moana Keryn鈥檚 studio based in Auckland you are immediately immersed by the work of a diverse young artist. At 26 years of age, Keryn is an unassuming yet prolific interdisciplinary artist.
Keryn is of English, Irish and Maori descent and belongs to the tribes, Ngati Maniapoto and Nga Puhi. Her exclusive position as a multi-cultural individual allows an exclusive understanding of post colonial dynamics. It also allows her to navigate the space between the different ethnicities and the selective adaptation of cultural qualities.
Keryn鈥檚 work employs the use of all forms of medium including moving image, photography, sculpture, drawing, performance and installation.
