My career goal has been to contribute to the discovery of snake venom molecules that can be used as research and diagnostic tools and drug therapies for life-threatening diseases such as strokes, heart attacks, cancers, and other medical conditions.

cDNA library construction from mRNA isolated from snake venom glands, rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE), RNA and DNA isolation, DNA analysis, DNA cloning, primer design, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), detection of mRNA by reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR), agarose gel electrophoresis, gene expression analysis, and recombinant protein expression in E. coli.
