Many are surprised to learn that I'm a molecular biology major. A particularly humorous example was during a college conference, when a parent had expected me to study art based on my communication with her; "you're far too friendly to be a biology major!"
In actuality, I've valued my educational experiences. My training, including three summers of independent research, has endowed me with qualitative and quantitative skills: searching for and analyzing established research to develop novel questions, working both independently and with colleagues to tackle complex projects, and presenting results and their implications in an effective manner.
