I will be graduating from University of Porto with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2017. I am currently competing for the Cum Laude distinction (Universitys highest academic honor). I have been awarded a highly competitive Ph.D. scholarship from The Foundation for Science and Technology with a final score within the top 1% students in the country. During my research, I have published close to 30 peer-reviewed papers in high impact journals, one of which was awarded by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and is now on display at the Library of Congress and the White House in the United States of America.
