The digestive system is made up of organs that break down food, absorb nutrients, and eliminate waste. It includes the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, and pancreas. Food is broken into small pieces as it passes through these organs, and the body absorbs nutrients while waste is expelled. The digestive system breaks food down, extracts nutrients, and removes waste from the body.
2. Digestive System
• Group of organs that absorb the nutrients used by the body.
• Consists of Esophagus-Stomach-Small intestine- Large
intestine- Liver- Pancreas.
• Breaks food into small pieces and then the body absorbs the
useful parts and the rest that is over is waste.
3. • Some characteristics: large, and a little bit big.
• Looks confused because of the organs and it looks strange.
• The colors of the organs are red, pink and light orange.
4. Organs:
• Esophagus: It’s a long tube that begins in your throat.
• Stomach: It’s a muscular bag that mashes food and mixes the
food with digestive juices.
• Small intestine: It’s a long coiled tube that digests food and
absorbs nutrients your body needs from the digested food.
• Large intestine: It’s a large tube that soaks up water and
minerals and leaves only the waste.
5. • Pancreas: Makes juices that are released into the small
intestine.
• Liver: makes a juice called bile that helps break large blobs of
fat into tiny droplets so that the fats can be broken down
more easily.
