Nelson Hellwig has over 25 years of experience working for healthcare entities, biotechnology companies, and
nonprofit organizations. In 2017, Nelson became the Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance for Community Transfusion Services (ACTS), a collaborative of 12 community blood centers that collect, process, test and distribute more than 1.5 million units of blood to patients in more than 750 hospitals and provide various technical services, therapeutic treatments and stem cell laboratory operations in multiple locations throughout the U.S.
