Works for a non-profit organization which advocates to raise corporate governance standards and practices of companies in the country. ICD was founded in 1999 by Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao, its Chairman Emeritus, shortly after the start of the East Asian financial crisis. Seeing the damage wrought to East Asian financial systems and responding to regulators’ concerns about the fragility of the Philippine capital markets by shortcomings of corporate governance, Dr. Estanislao founded ICD to introduce changes in corporate governance practices.
