The professor of my first undergraduate writing class declared on our first day: Write what you know. I found my passion in creative non-fiction essays, eventually choosing it as my focus in DePaul's Master of Writing and Publishing program. I'm learning how to shape personal experience into writing which uses both content and form to offer exploration, insight, and conversation around human experience.
