Participants were divided into community groups and spent 5 minutes introducing themselves to another community group. They then rotated to a new group to repeat the introductions. The goal was to provide opportunities for participants to quickly meet each other and develop relationships that could continue throughout the seminar. A survey found that participants enjoyed the quick introductions and most felt it could have been longer. Respondents also thought introductions beforehand may have helped. The session successfully introduced participants and encouraged continued conversations.

meet each other and develop a relationship that they could continue
throughout the seminar and beyond.
Description:
Participants in their community groupings spent 5 minutes with another
community group introducing themselves and sharing contacts for future
conversations. After 5 minutes the groups change and move onto another of
the groups to repeat the procedure.

Many respondents felt the session could have been longer and some indicated
that introductions prior may have improve the session. All survey respondents
consider it important to meet other SCfC participants.
Overall the session was successful in that it introduced the participants to each
other and set them up to continue their conversations and stories throughout the
seminar.

Phil Jordan, a Thames Water employee, came upon an overturned van after finishing a night shift. He stopped to help the injured driver despite dangerous conditions with leaking petrol and oil. Jordan provided first aid until emergency services arrived, likely saving the driver's life. Jordan has a history of helping people in dangerous situations, such as fallen elderly and injured motorcyclists. He hopes to become a retained firefighter on weekends to continue his career helping others.

CII and Eli Lilly & Company in collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare released the National White Paper on ‘Synergizing Efforts in Diabetes Care at the Tertiary Level’ at the ‘3rd National NCD Summit 2015’ on 12 August, 2015 at New Delhi. This National White Paper is intended to strengthen the policies and practices around diabetes management and care at the tertiary level and has brought together Government, public and private tertiary care providers operating in this space of management of complications arising out of Diabetes. The recommendations included herein were derived from 6 intensive multi-stakeholder regional consultations around Diabetic complications of Retinopathy, Neuropathy, Stroke, Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, Cardio Vascular Disease, Nephropathy and Infections including tuberculosis in diabetes. Each regional workshop had participation from endocrinologists and specialists in the identified theme and was supported by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) and policy makers from key government institutes and organizations.

Eating disorders (EDs) are dangerous and costly. In Canada, there are regional disparities in the availability of specialized ED treatment options. In New Brunswick, there exist no publicly funded treatment centres. To understand the burden of EDs in the province and inform health system service delivery models, accurate surveillance data are of critical importance. Little is currently known about patterns of ED hospitalizations in NB, the demographics of ED patients in NB, or about the financial burden of EDs on the province. Using provincial administrative healthcare data, we examined the prevalence of ED admissions to NB hospitals between 2003 and 2020. We compiled information about patient clinical and demographic characteristics, length of hospitalizations, and calculated the cost of EDs per hospital admission. Our findings are an important first step to help understand service use among people with EDs in NB, and quantify the financial cost of hospitalizations in this province, informing efforts to build capacity for evidence-based ED treatment. We will discuss health policy recommendations to ensure appropriate care for people with EDs in the province: 1) training NB clinicians in evidence-based interventions; 2) integrating ED treatment into existing hospital and primary care services; 3) building communities of practice for interdisciplinary consultation and support; and 4) establishing care navigation platforms connecting ED patients with care providers.

Powered by Talk'fest survey Objective: To provide an opportunity for as many participants as possible to quickly meet each other and develop a relationship that they could continue throughout the seminar and beyond. Description: Participants in their community groupings spent 5 minutes with another community group introducing themselves and sharing contacts for future conversations. After 5 minutes the groups change and move onto another of the groups to repeat the procedure.

2. Date of event: Tuesday, October 01, 2016 Talk’fest respondents = 36 Completed Responses: 33 All respondents indicated they enjoyed this quick way of meeting seminar participants. Many respondents felt the session could have been longer and some indicated that introductions prior may have improve the session. All survey respondents consider it important to meet other SCfC participants. Overall the session was successful in that it introduced the participants to each other and set them up to continue their conversations and stories throughout the seminar.
