This document defines and lists the eight common parts of speech in English: nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, interjections, and articles. It provides examples and brief definitions for each part of speech. Nouns name people, places, objects, feelings, or ideas. Adjectives supply more information about nouns. Verbs indicate action. Adverbs supply more information about verbs. Conjunctions join words or parts of sentences. Prepositions show the relationship between things. Interjections convey emotion in spoken language. Articles indicate definite or indefinite things.

4. 1.Noun: A word which names a person, place, object, feeling or idea
Here are 5 different types of nouns common, proper, pronoun, collective and abstract noun

Example: The over weight man stepped out of a vehicle
3.Verbs: A word which indicates action
Example: The man steps out of the car
4.Adverb: A word which supplies more information about a verb
Examples: Lindi walked confidently across the round.
5.Conjunction: A linking word which joins words or parts of sentences
Until, because, Although and etc.
Example: Thabo filled the water tank because it was empty.

7.Interjection: A word which conveys an emotion and which is usual part of spoken English
Example of words like hi, wow and eish that we use mostly when we talk or express our feeling to our friends
but these are words we would not use in a formal conversation.
