Oxfam is an international confederation of 17 organizations (affiliates) networked together in 94 countries, as part of a global movement for change.
Oxfam has been present in Bangladesh for 42 years, and extending assistance to its people through various other organizations as early as 1954. In 1970, Oxfam as in Oxfam GB first started its journey in Bangladesh by assisting the victims of a deadly cyclone. Oxfam played a commendable role during the War of Liberation in 1971 by providing food, shelter and medicine to millions of displaced people.
