Since I defended my PhD thesis in biochemistry at the Karolinska Institutet in 2002 I have been working in the pharmaceutical industry - the first five years as a senior scientist at the AstraZeneca Biotech Laboratory, and the last five years at Biovitrum/Sobi, where I currently hold a position as Principal Scientist and R&D project leader. During my 10 years in biotech I have been closely involved in the development of both small molecular drugs and biologics, although I am now solely working with proteins.
