The main focus of my research is the sensory ecology of plants, with emphasis on responses to light and UV radiation. More generally I am interested in exploring the roles of the molecular and metabolic mechanisms of perception and transduction of informational signals in the acclimation of plants to the natural environment, and their possible exploitation as management tools in horticulture, agriculture and forestry. I am also interested in experimental techniques, their valid use, and how to avoid misinterpretation of experimental results.
