Full Professor in Geology - Univ. Coimbra, undertaking research on Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, Geomorphology, Neotectonics and Luminescence dating. Research has been made on diversified sedimentary records (Upper Jurassic to Quaternary) and alluvial to marine paleoenvironments. Recently this has involved participation and leading research projects examining fluvial/coastal/tectonic geomorphology, sedimentology and long-term landscape development in Iberia.
