1) Climate change has been occurring in Africa for a long time, with the Sahara desertification starting around the time of Moses and the Great Plagues of Egypt reflecting climate shifts.
2) Traditional African agriculture and use of domesticated animals like sheep and crops adapted to varying rainfall levels helped societies adapt to climate fluctuations for thousands of years through practices like conservation measures.
3) More recent changes like increasing populations, consumption patterns, and introduction of more water-intensive crops by Europeans have made societies more vulnerable to the current major climate change episode humanity faces.
