Dr. Livingstone has worked in and researched nonprofit cultural organizations for more than twenty years, conducting strategic planning, curatorial work, training and supervision, and program management, planning & evaluation. She is active in various museum professional associations and sits on the boards of the International Council on Museums International Committee on Training of Personnel and the American Association of Museums Committee on the Training of Museum Personnel. She was selected as the 2013 Smithsonian Institution Fellow in Museum Practice and is now working on a book based on that research.
