I managed the pipeline to produce pure, novel carbohydrases for the GLBRC, and also performed protein production and characterization when required. Two hundred different enzymes were cloned, produced, purified, characterized and supplied to the GLBRC in 10 mg quantities during 2008 to 2011. Two of these novel enzymes were patented (U.S. Patent 8,088,612 and 7,510,857). Over 2700 mg of pure enzymes were delivered to GLBRC in 2012 and 2013. Of these two hundred novel enzymes, thirty-five were later commercialized through Lucigen Inc., and nine have also been commercialized through Sigma-Aldrich.
