Pinaki is Professor of Marketing at IMI, New Delhi. Prior to IMI, he was with the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade as Associate Professor in the Marketing area. Pinaki, spent nearly 7-8 years in the advertising industry prior to joining the academic world. His stint at Rediffusion DY&R and Mudra between 1993 to 1998, were quite significant and shaped a large part of his later years in academic world.
