I have been in the Solar Industry since 2007. We supply Solar Power products, such as Solar Panels, Regulators, Inverters, Batteries, etc. We also provide Backup Power to provide power (lights, TV, etc.) in case of a Power Blackout by Eskom. This need not be powered by Solar Panels, but the batteries can be charged via a Battery Charger running on Eskom power. In these cases, it is basically a case of storing Eskom power for use at a later stage. By using an intelligent charger, the charger can be connected to the batteries for an indefinate period. There is no need to check whether the batteries are fully charged or not. It will also not damage the batteries by overcharging.
