Prof. Bhattacharya is currently a Full Professor and the Department Head of the Computer Science Department, University of Cincinnati in Ohio.
He is also currently an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, Montreal, Canada where he has been collaborating with a team of medical doctors on the early detection of ovarian cancer using imaging techniques.
Prof. Bhattacharya is a Fellow of the IEEE (elected in 2002) and a Fellow of the IAPR (elected in 2002).
