SO FIGHT I
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that
beateth the air:
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by
any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a
castaway.
 1 Corinthians 9:26 &27
Every-one faces temptation daily. Regardless of the condition of ones soul, every-one will face
temptation. Christians and moral non-Christians see a battle between wrong and right, though the
Christians may see things a bit differently than one who is only set on living a moral life. There
is only one view point that can offer hope. Human reasoning cannot offer hope, only Gods
understanding can extend grace and mercy.
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let
him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for
he will abundantly pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith
the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your
ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
- Isaiah 55:7- 9
A Christian who slacks off in their Bible reading is subject to the lusts of their flesh. Temptation,
for the Christian, is a fight between their old ways and the new heart God has given them. Paul
the apostle spoke of the struggle between the flesh and the spirit, but he did not make provision
for the flesh.
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be
destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
- Romans 6:6
Grace is not given so we can give in to our lusts, and not feel guilty about it. Grace is given so
we can have a fresh start with God. Grace clears ones conscience of past sins and gives them
eternal life.
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and
bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve
the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
- Romans 7:23-25
It is prudent for a Christian to read their Bible daily; a lack of scripture will lead one to feel
perplexed over who is nagging at their conscience. Is there a sadness nagging at your heart,
because you are sinning or is the sadness due to God calling out to you? you do not have to feel
so far from God.
Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto
my knowledge.
For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted
in thy lips.
That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to
thee.
Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou
mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?
- Proverbs 22:17-21
A lost person may or may not regard temptation as a fight between right and wrong. They,
depending on their sense of morality, may view their temptations as a desire of themselves. They
may view wicked thoughts as their true desires and motives. The lost cant properly discern
without Gods wisdom. An evolutionist views temptation as animal instincts and can only
indulge those lusts. Atheists answer only to themselves, or so they think. They might live
however they want, but one day they must answer to God.
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every
tongue shall confess to God.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
- Romans 14:11 & 12
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no
God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that
doeth good.
The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there
were any that did understand, and seek God.
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that
doeth good, no, not one.
- Psalms 14:1-3
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and
peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of
God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
- Romans 8:6-8
Without God, there is no peace. Without God, there is depravity. Without Gods Word, we
stumble. Sin enslaves a person in such a way that the evolutionists are right about humans having
animal instincts. Thankfully, all who accept Christ become a new creature. Thankfully, the old
man is crucified and the flesh is dead. A saved person doesnt have to fall victim to depravity.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in
you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life
because of righteousness.
- Romans 8:9 & 10
Therefore if any man be in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed
away; behold, all things are become new.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17
But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the
spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
- Romans 2:29
Something extra:
Everyone wants world peace, but that wont happen on this earth. The events that must transpire
is the rapture, the tribulation, a new heaven and earth, Jesus reigning on millennial earth. This
world wont see world peace, because they do not want the full knowledge of God.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full
of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
- Isaiah 11:9
