Grew up in Ithaca, NY. Graduated from Ithaca High School in 1971. Pursued education and profession in art conservation. Married Kathleen Rose in 1980. Have 2 children: Eric, 19, sophomore at University of Pittsburgh: chemistry and philosophy double major; Anna, 16, junior-home schooling; harpist. Work at George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film as Senior Research Conservator. Parents 94 (father), 91(mother); only sibling sister Ellen deceased 2009 at 62 years.
