A rare earths and rare metals staking rush has been developing in what has been dubbed the Rocky Mountain Rare Metal Belt that runs from southeast to northwest British Columbia, literally over a distance covering the entire province. BC rare metal deposits are present in a variety of geological settings with many known deposits associated with a belt of Devonian alkaline intrusions of syenite to carbonatite composition. The belt has been known to host rare earths and rare metals for many years; however due to increased demand and restrictions on supply, the Rocky Mountain Rare Metal Belt has been seeing intense exploration activity.
