The document reflects on the learning and skills gained from a preliminary task to the full product. It discusses progressing skills in Photoshop, such as adding dynamic text effects like drop shadows and glows. Researching audience preferences helped apply the right color schemes, text amounts, and codes for the target genre. Choosing the genre allowed more creative freedom and attachment compared to following a given specification.
2. How much have learnt?
My final construction in comparison to my
preliminary task is far better in terms of quality and
originality
3. Skills in Photoshop
My skills in Photoshop have progressed dramatically
since my preliminary task. This is evident in the
images as the one in the preliminary task has been
very poorly and has a lot of artefacts around the
edges cropped while my final construction is a loot
smoother.
4. Skills in Photoshop
As my skills I furthered my skills in photo shop I was able to create
more dynamic effects for the text such as drop shadows and
outer glows; this made my final product look a lot more
professional than my preliminary.
5. Research
Being able to carry out audience research has allowed me
discover what codes and conventions are commonly
associated with my chosen genre. This has allowed me to
create a product better suited to my target audience. This
allowed me to recognize what colour schemes to use, how
much text there should be on the front cover and other
important facts that contributed towards making my final
product. Whereas I wasn¡¯t able to do this with my preliminary
task meaning I didn¡¯t know what my target audience wanted
6. Being able to choose the genre
Because I was allowed to choose the genre I felt far more
attached to my final product as opposed to the preliminary task
where I was given a specification I felt this restricted my creative
liberties. Having chosen the genre of the music magazine I was
able to apply information about something I already knew and
as I am a fan of the genre I chose, I believe I felt it was a more
enjoyable process in comparison to the preliminary task
