- 2. NME NME is a magazine about new music mainly focusing on rock and alternative music. It is targeted at the youth market especially those with an interest in rock music. NME is published by IPC and has been published weekly since 1952 but only became a magazine 1988. It costs £2.40 and is sold at most newsagents and supermarkets. The editor is Krissi Murison
